Breeze Airways Brings New Energy Back To ACY
Hey Folks,
I was down at Atlantic City International Airport this week for the inaugural Breeze Airways flight to Charleston, South Carolina — and honestly, it felt like something important was happening.
Not just another press conference.
Real momentum.
I spent time talking with passengers, local officials, and folks in the terminal who were genuinely excited to see new life at ACY again. After everything the airport has gone through recently with Spirit Airlines shutting down operations, people around South Jersey have been wondering what comes next.
Well… now we know.
Breeze isn’t just testing the waters here. They’re going all in.
The Charleston flight officially launched this week with nonstop service twice a week, but that’s just the beginning. Breeze also announced new nonstop routes from Atlantic City to Orlando, Fort Myers, Myrtle Beach, and West Palm Beach over the next several months.
That’s a major deal for South Jersey travelers.
And if you work in tourism, hospitality, entertainment, casinos, restaurants, or events — this matters even more.
More flights mean more visitors.
More visitors mean more overnight stays.
More overnight stays mean more business for Atlantic City.
I sat in on the press event and heard leadership from the South Jersey Transportation Authority, Visit Atlantic City, and Breeze Airways talk about the future of the airport and regional tourism.
The energy in the room was optimistic — and deservedly so.
I’ve always believed accessibility is everything when it comes to growing Atlantic City. If people can get here easier, they’ll come for concerts at Boardwalk Hall, weekends at the casinos, beach concerts, restaurants, nightlife, and all the incredible things to do in Atlantic City.
And let’s be honest… having direct Florida flights out of ACY is going to be a huge win for local travelers too.
What stood out most to me was this:
People weren’t talking about what Atlantic City lost.
They were talking about where Atlantic City is headed.
That’s the kind of shift this town needs.
I’m telling you… seeing that Breeze jet sitting on the tarmac with people smiling, cameras flashing, and travelers boarding nonstop flights again felt really good for South Jersey.

This is wonderful news! It is a win for AC locals and their travel options. It is a win to bring more visitors to AC. It will also help displaced workers. Keep the good news coming!!!
thank you for your comments, I’m looking forward to boarding myself.
Agree! I had been happy with Spirit… West Palm Beach into AC…. Flew at least six times this past year. Great prices even with my upgraded seat and my flights were always on time. Wish Spirit employees all the best and much luck to Breeze. Happy they’ll be picking up the PBI route into AC. So much to see and do there. Thanks for the updates Mike!!!

I’m so glad they are going to someplace beside Florida! I’m going to Myrtle Beach when they start those flights!
