Gary Musich & Visit Atlantic City Are Bringing Pride Back To AC
Hey Folks,
I’ve said this for years on the radio, on the Boardwalk, and sitting at casino bars talking with visitors from Philly, North Jersey, New York and beyond… Atlantic City has always been one of the greatest destinations on the East Coast.
The problem was never the city.
The problem was making sure the right people were telling the story.
That’s why what’s happening right now with Visit Atlantic City matters so much.
If you’ve been paying attention lately, you’ve probably noticed the messaging feels sharper, more unified, and honestly… more authentic. There’s finally a real push to showcase EVERYTHING Atlantic City has become — not just casinos, but entertainment, food, beaches, conventions, sports, nightlife, concerts, small businesses, and the entire South Jersey lifestyle.
And a lot of that momentum starts with Gary Musich.
Gary isn’t some outsider trying to “figure out” Atlantic City from a conference room somewhere. The guy has spent decades in hospitality, tourism, conventions, and casino partnerships right here in this market. Before becoming President & CEO of Visit Atlantic City, he spent more than 25 years helping build Atlantic City’s tourism and convention business from the inside. That experience matters. You can feel it. Visit Atlantic City officially named Gary Musich President & CEO after years of leadership in sales, tourism, and destination development.
And here’s the difference I see personally…
Gary’s vision isn’t about hype.
It’s about consistency.
It’s about showing the country that Atlantic City is a COMPLETE destination.
For too long, everybody wanted to be an “Atlantic City influencer.” Everybody had a camera. Everybody had opinions. Everybody wanted clicks.
But Visit Atlantic City under Gary’s leadership feels different because it’s actually connected to the people building this city every day — the casinos, the restaurants, the promoters, the entertainers, the sports events, the conventions, the hotels, and the small businesses trying to bring visitors back year-round.
That’s the part many creators and influencers missed.
Atlantic City isn’t just content.
It’s an ecosystem.
And Visit Atlantic City understands that better than anybody right now.
The organization itself was created as Atlantic City’s official destination marketing organization to drive tourism, conventions, sporting events, film production and group travel throughout the city. Their work directly impacts hotel stays, restaurant traffic, events, and local business growth. Their mission goes far beyond simple advertising — they actively help bring meetings, conventions, sporting events and major entertainment business into Atlantic City year-round.
I’ve watched firsthand how Atlantic City has evolved over the years. I’ve been inside the packed boxing nights at Boardwalk Hall, covered concerts at Hard Rock Atlantic City, sat with visitors at Ocean Casino Resort, and talked with people walking the Boardwalk who can’t believe how much there is to do here now.
That’s why this current era feels important.
Because for once, the branding is finally matching the reality.
And let’s be honest… Atlantic City deserves that.
Visit Atlantic City has also done something smart that many tourism groups fail to do — they’ve stopped trying to sell Atlantic City as one thing.
Because AC is not one thing.
It’s luxury weekends.
It’s beach days.
It’s food culture.
It’s concerts.
It’s championship boxing.
It’s bachelor parties.
It’s conventions.
It’s sports tourism.
It’s nightlife.
It’s family memories on the Boardwalk.
It’s one of the few places where you can spend the afternoon on the beach and end the night seeing a world-class show.
If you know, you know.
And if you haven’t been lately, I’m telling you right now — this city is moving.
