Street Love Is Showing Atlantic City What Community Looks Like
Hey Folks,
I’ve said it for years—Atlantic City is at its best when neighbors come together to help neighbors.
Sure, we’re known for our beaches, Boardwalk, entertainment, and great restaurants, but what really defines our community is the people who quietly step up every single day to make someone else’s life a little better.
That’s exactly why I wanted to shine a spotlight on an incredible event happening this week.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Street Love Foundation will bring volunteers together inside Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City with one ambitious goal…
Pack 60,000 nutritious meals in just one morning.
One Morning Can Change Thousands of Lives
From 9:00 a.m. until Noon, volunteers will work side-by-side assembling shelf-stable meals that will be distributed through food banks, shelters, and community organizations serving families throughout South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia region.
Think about that for a second…
Sixty thousand meals.
That’s 60,000 opportunities to let someone know they’re not forgotten.
Events like this remind me why I love talking about our community every day. The headlines don’t always have to be about casinos or concerts. Sometimes the biggest stories are about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
From an Idea During COVID to One of South Jersey’s Most Inspiring Nonprofits
The Street Love Foundation was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic by Liz Schneider and Jill Plotnick with one simple mission: help people experiencing homelessness and families facing food insecurity.
What started as delivering meals, clothing, hygiene products, and essential supplies has grown into one of Atlantic City’s most respected nonprofit organizations. Today, Street Love continues to provide compassion, dignity, and hope to those who need it most while bringing together businesses, volunteers, churches, schools, and community leaders to make a real difference.
I’ve always believed that communities become stronger when people stop asking, “Why doesn’t somebody help?” and instead ask, “How can I help?” Street Love is living proof of what happens when people answer that question.
Harrah’s Atlantic City Opens Its Doors
This year’s meal-packing event will once again take place at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, whose continued partnership helps make an event of this size possible.
It takes an incredible team effort to organize something like this. Volunteers, sponsors, community organizations, and local businesses all come together for one purpose—helping our neighbors.
That’s the Atlantic City I know.

There are plenty of great Atlantic City events, concerts, festivals, and attractions to enjoy, but some of the most meaningful moments happen when people roll up their sleeves and give back.
Whether you volunteer on July 28, make a donation later in the year, or simply share Street Love’s mission with someone else, you’re helping make our community a little stronger.
And that’s something worth celebrating.
