Happy Friday, and welcome to another edition of AC Mike’s Weekend Shore Update!
Every Thursday or Friday morning, I’ll be putting together the best things happening around Atlantic City, the Jersey Shore, and South Jersey so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying your weekend. Whether you’re looking for live music, family fun, great food, casino entertainment, or community events, you’ll find it right here.
August is flying by, but this weekend is packed with things to do. From the Boardwalk in Ocean City to the casinos in Atlantic City and everywhere in between, there’s something for everyone.
❤️ Good News Around Our Communities
Congratulations to Stockton University, which has once again been recognized as one of Money Magazine’s Best Colleges in America. It’s another well-deserved honor for a university that continues to provide outstanding educational opportunities right here in South Jersey.
Resorts Casino Hotel is celebrating the final stretch of summer with an August lineup filled with live entertainment, themed parties, tribute shows, beachside events, and special promotions. It’s great to see one of Atlantic City’s landmark resorts keeping the summer energy going strong.
And looking ahead, legendary rock band Chicago will return to Hard Rock Live this November for two nights. Tickets are already on sale, so if you’re a fan, now’s the time to grab your seats before they’re gone.
Ocean City is also welcoming young anglers for the 49th Annual Boys & Girls Surf Fishing Tournament this Saturday morning, while the Ocean City Theatre Company continues its outstanding production of Sister Act through August 13.

If you’re asking me where I’d spend part of my weekend, I’d make it a doubleheader. Start Saturday morning strolling through the Ocean City Boardwalk Art Show, grab lunch on the boards, and then head to Atlantic City Saturday night for one of the outstanding casino shows. We sometimes forget how lucky we are to have world-class entertainment just minutes away from some of the best beaches anywhere.
