AC Mike’s Weekend Update: Marathon Energy, Great Music & Fall Fun (Oct. 16–18, 2026)
Hey Folks,
October at the Jersey Shore is turning out to be anything but quiet! This Friday, October 16, through Sunday, October 18, 2026, we have major names on Atlantic City stages, a marathon winding through our communities, classic cars on the Ocean City Boardwalk, family festivals in Wildwood and Sea Isle, and some very good reasons to head toward Cape May or Historic Smithville. Whether you want a big night out or a relaxed afternoon with the family, there is plenty here worth your time.
We checked the organizers, tourism calendars, venues, and event pages and pulled together a weekend that feels like the real South Jersey: music and nightlife, yes, but also local theater, car shows, community causes, nature, and affordable things to do. A few events are outdoors and schedules can change, so use the direct links below before you go. Here are the highlights.
Atlantic City: A Big-Show Weekend with a Marathon in the Middle
Ricky Martin Brings Friday-Night Energy to Hard Rock
Friday, October 16, 8 p.m. — Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena, Atlantic City. Ricky Martin is one of the headline acts in town this weekend, bringing his Latin-pop hits and high-energy stage show to the Etess Arena. If you’re looking to start your weekend with an arena concert, this is the big Friday-night ticket. It’s also a busy marathon weekend in Atlantic City, so don’t cut your arrival time too close. The venue’s official page has the current ticket information. Official details and updates.
Daughtry Celebrates 20 Years — Unplugged
Saturday, October 17, 7 p.m. — Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort, Atlantic City. The 20 Years Unplugged tour gives fans a different way to hear Daughtry’s familiar rock catalog, with a more stripped-down arrangement than an arena-style electric set. Ryan Perdz is also listed on the bill. For somebody who loves big songs but prefers a different type of concert night, this could be an especially good choice. Use the band’s official tour calendar to reach the show-specific ticket information. Official details and updates.
The Atlantic City Marathon Belongs to the Whole Town
Saturday, October 17, 9 a.m.; Sunday, October 18, 8 a.m. — Atlantic City Boardwalk and surrounding communities. The AmeriHealth Atlantic City Marathon race weekend gets underway with Saturday’s 10K and G. Larry James 5K, both scheduled for 9 a.m. On Sunday at 8 a.m., runners line up for the full marathon and half marathon. Race organizers have reported a sold-out weekend, so make this a spectator outing rather than assuming walk-up entries will be available. Find an approved cheering spot and help make some noise for the runners and volunteers who put so much into this event. Check course and traffic updates before driving into town; runners and spectators alike benefit from a little extra planning. Official details and updates.
Little Shop of Horrors: Local Theater With a Halloween Twist
Saturday, October 17, 8 p.m. — Screening Room, Resorts Casino Hotel, Atlantic City. The Atlantic City Theatre Company is bringing Little Shop of Horrors to Resorts for a night of memorable songs, offbeat comedy, and a plant with a very unusual appetite. If you’re looking for entertainment beyond a major touring headliner, this show also gives you a chance to support the local performing-arts community. It is one of several Halloween-season productions around the resort district; confirm ticketing and seating through the venue before heading over. Official details and updates.
The Hocus Pocus Speakeasy and a Rocky-Horror-Flavored Night
Saturday, October 17; Hocus Pocus at 4 p.m., Bat Out of Helloween at 8 p.m. — Resorts Casino Hotel and Tropicana, Atlantic City. For a playful Halloween outing, The Hocus Pocus Speakeasy brings an interactive mix of cabaret, comedy, games, and singalongs to the Starlight Ballroom at Resorts at 4 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., Tropicana hosts Bat Out of Helloween: Celebrating Meat Loaf and Rocky Horror, a theatrical rock tribute featuring the Neverland Express and vocalist Andrew Polec. Those are two very different ways to lean into October without waiting until Halloween weekend. Check each show’s event listing for ticketing and entry details. Official details and updates.
Borgata’s B Bar Keeps the Music Going Late
Friday and Saturday, October 16–17, starting 7:30 p.m. each evening — B Bar, Borgata, Atlantic City. If you prefer your entertainment in a lounge rather than a concert hall, B Bar has a full live-music schedule. On Friday, Embers Trio plays 7:30–11 p.m. and Porch Trio follows 11:30 p.m.–3 a.m. Saturday brings Dan Jost Trio for the early slot and Sami Eldebs Trio late. It’s an easy way to build a night around dinner and drinks without committing to a single headline show. The Borgata schedule is the source for up-to-date performers and times. Official details and updates.
Ocean City: Porsches, Broadway Music, and a Community Cause
More Than 350 Porsches Take Over the Boardwalk — Free
Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m.–4:30 p.m. — Ocean City Boardwalk, Sixth through 14th Streets. The Porsche Boardwalk Reunion is a classic example of something that makes the Shore special after summer. More than 350 Porsches, from 1954 models to modern cars, are expected to line the Boardwalk, and the entire display is free to attend. The Music Pier also hosts technical sessions for people who want to learn more about the cars. Even if you can’t name the models, it’s quite a sight. Bicycles are not permitted on the affected section of the Boardwalk during the display, so plan your visit accordingly. Official details and updates.
A Grand Night for Singing at the Music Pier
Friday and Saturday, October 16–17, 7 p.m.; Sunday, October 18, 2 p.m. — Ocean City Music Pier, 825 Boardwalk. Ocean City Theatre Company presents A Grand Night for Singing, a joyful revue celebrating the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The lineup draws from beloved musicals including Oklahoma!, South Pacific, The King and I, Carousel, and Cinderella. A Friday or Saturday evening show works nicely with a Boardwalk stroll, while Sunday’s afternoon performance is a good alternative for families and theater lovers. Check the official event listing for tickets and the complete run of performances. Official details and updates.
The HERO Walk Reminds Us Why Safe Driving Matters
Sunday, October 18; check-in 9 a.m., fun run 10 a.m., walk 11 a.m. — Ocean City Boardwalk. The John R. Elliott HERO Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run supports the vital message of safe, sober designated driving while remembering families affected by impaired driving. Registration check-in begins at 9 a.m., the 1-mile fun run starts at 10 a.m., ceremonies are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., and the HERO Walk begins at 11 a.m. This is the sort of community event that’s about more than the activity itself. Teams, families, and supporters can find participation details through the official HERO Walk information. Official details and updates.
Wildwood: Free Fall Fun, Monster Trucks, and Classic Music
Wildwoods Fall Festival Brings Everyone to Fox Park
Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. — Fox Park, across from the Wildwoods Convention Center. Admission to the Wildwoods Fall Festival is free, and the event packs a lot into the day: family entertainment, live bands, craft and food vendors, and a beer garden. You can browse for a while, grab a bite, stay for music, and enjoy one of those community gatherings that reminds us the Shore is a year-round place. It is an especially strong pick if you’re trying to give the family something fun to do without paying for concert tickets. Check the festival page for any weather updates. Official details and updates.
Monsters on the Beach Returns After Its Postponement
Saturday and Sunday, October 17–18; check promoter for session times — Wildwood beach at Spicer Avenue. The Renegade Monster Truck Tour brings massive trucks and sand-based motorsports excitement back to Wildwood this weekend. The event had been scheduled for September but was postponed after severe coastal flooding, and the organizers say existing tickets transfer to the new dates. That change is worth noting, especially if you already bought a ticket. The tourism page verifies the October 17–18 dates but does not provide a dependable full revised showtime schedule, so follow its promoter link before you travel. Official details and updates.
Wildwoods Oldies Spectacular: Music That Made the Shore Famous
Saturday, October 17, 7 p.m. — Starlight Ballroom, Wildwoods Convention Center. There’s a special connection between Wildwood and the oldies, and Saturday’s Wildwoods Oldies Spectacular celebrates it. Produced by the Bobby Rydell Foundation, the show features The Chiclettes, Jay Siegel and The Tokens, Clyde McPhatter’s Drifters, and The Trammps, with Tommy Cono as host. This is a night for anyone who loves the songs, harmonies, and memories of classic pop and soul. The official event page links to current ticket information. Official details and updates.
MudHen HarvestFest Gives Sunday a Family-Friendly Twist
Sunday, October 18, music 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; family activities noon–4 p.m. — MudHen Brewing Company, 127 West Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood. MudHen’s HarvestFest combines live music and seasonal flavors with activities aimed at families. Philly Keys dueling pianos perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Fat Mezz from 2 to 6 p.m. Free pumpkin painting and face painting for kids are scheduled noon to 4 p.m., with circus performers from 1 to 4 p.m. That variety makes this more than a stop for a seasonal drink. MudHen also has the Sensational Soul Cruisers on its Friday, October 16 calendar from 7 to 11 p.m. if you want a separate night of Motown, soul, and disco. Official details and updates.
Sea Isle City and Smithville: Hometown Fall Traditions
Sea Isle City’s Harvest Classic Fills Excursion Park
Saturday, October 17, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. — Excursion Park, Sea Isle City. If you’d rather spend the day at a hometown fall celebration, Sea Isle’s Harvest Classic delivers pumpkin decorating, beach hayrides, live music, vendor shopping, and family activities. Local scarecrow displays and a contest add another reason to look around town. This is a wonderful example of a community taking advantage of its fall season and offering visitors a different reason to come back. The event is scheduled at Excursion Park near JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue; check the official listing for updates. Official details and updates.
Smithville’s Costume Pet Parade Is Going to Be Adorable
Saturday, October 17; organizer’s current page does not specify a start time — Historic Smithville Village Greene, Galloway. There’s something about pets in costumes that makes even a chilly October day feel fun. Historic Smithville’s Costume Pet Parade, hosted by village shop Paw Dazzle, brings costumed dogs and their people together for a village tradition. You don’t need to be a participant to enjoy the scene and support local shops. The organizer has confirmed the October 17 date but not a dependable start time on the page we checked, so use the official event listing to confirm before heading out. Official details and updates.
Corvettes Cruise Into Historic Smithville
Sunday, October 18; check organizer for exact show hours — Historic Smithville Village Greene, Galloway. On Sunday, the village trades pet costumes for some beautiful automotive engineering with its Corvette Show. Hosted by the Original Garden State Corvette Club, the show brings sports cars into a walkable village setting with local shops and restaurants nearby. The organizers list Sunday, October 18 as the date and November 1 as the rain date. Come to admire the cars, spend a little time in the village, and enjoy one of Smithville’s popular seasonal traditions. Official details and updates.
Cape May: Migration, Lighthouses, and October History
Cape May Fall Festival Celebrates Migration and Nature
Through Sunday, October 18; individual program times vary — Cape May area. The New Jersey Audubon Cape May Fall Festival runs October 15–18, making this a standout weekend for people who enjoy wildlife and the outdoors. The Cape May Bird Observatory is celebrating its 50th anniversary year, and the festival features birding activities and opportunities to learn about the fall migration that makes Cape May so special. Some walks, talks, and programs require registration, so check the official schedule and current availability rather than arriving for a particular activity unannounced. Official details and updates.
The Lighthouse Challenge Makes a Great Shore History Adventure
Saturday and Sunday, October 17–18 — Participating New Jersey lighthouse and maritime-history sites, including Atlantic City and Cape May area stops. The Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey encourages visitors to explore 11 lighthouse sites, four lifesaving stations, and one museum across the state over the weekend. You can take on the full route or simply use it as inspiration to discover a historic site closer to home. Absecon Lighthouse is among the South Jersey destinations, and Cape May adds another memorable coastal-history stop. The organizer lists a $10 participation fee for the souvenir-collection challenge, and individual site hours and access rules should be checked before your drive. Official details and updates.
Cape May has another seasonal option if you enjoy a little spooky history: Cape May MAC offers ghost and mystery experiences, including trolley tours and visits connected with the Physick Estate. Those tours are individually scheduled, so check specific availability rather than assuming a particular departure on Friday or Saturday. Browse Cape May MAC’s official ghost-tour calendar.

A Little Extra Planning Goes a Long Way
Atlantic City Marathon weekend may bring temporary traffic and Boardwalk changes, Wildwood’s monster-truck show has been rescheduled from September, and tickets or registration may be limited for some attractions. Please check each organizer’s latest notice before leaving home. And if you find a small shop, family restaurant, or neighborhood business along the way, give them a little love, too. That is how we help make the Shore a great place to live, work, play, and visit in every season.
