Is ACY Finally Catching a Tailwind?
Hey Folks,
If you’ve flown out of Atlantic City lately, you’ve probably felt it — things are starting to shift at Atlantic City International Airport. After a rough stretch and a lot of local head-scratching, ACY might finally be turning a corner. And honestly, it’s about time.
For years, Spirit was carrying the load here, and when they hit turbulence, passenger numbers dipped hard. But now the picture looks different. With Allegiant Air and Breeze Airways joining the mix alongside Spirit Airlines, we’re suddenly talking about options again — real options.
Allegiant is bringing nonstop Florida vibes, while Breeze is opening the door to the Carolinas and Tampa. That’s huge for South Jersey folks with family down south, and just as big for travelers who want an easier way into our casino city. Fewer crowds, easier parking, and you’re still minutes from the Boardwalk — that’s a win in my book when talking about Things to do in Atlantic City.
There’s also some serious optimism buzzing around, especially with experts at Stockton University pointing out that new routes and airline incentives show real confidence in ACY’s future. Add in big events coming to Philly and North Jersey next year, and smaller airports like ours could see a nice bump.
Bottom line? This feels like a fresh chapter for Atlantic City travel. If you’ve been sleeping on flying out of ACY, now might be the time to give it another look. Cheaper fares, new destinations, and that hometown airport feel we all love.
See you on the 48
