Hey Folks,
One of my favorite sights of the year is coming back to the beach, and if you’ve never experienced it in person, this is the year to do it. The roar of jet engines over the ocean, thousands of people lining the sand and the Boardwalk, and that feeling that summer at the Shore has officially arrived.
The Atlantic City Airshow — “Thunder Over the Boardwalk” is set for May 29–31 in Atlantic City, and it’s always one of the biggest things to do at the Jersey Shore.
This show is completely free to watch, and the backdrop couldn’t be better. The action happens right over the Atlantic Ocean, so whether you’re on the beach, walking the Boardwalk, or watching from one of the oceanfront resorts, you get a perfect view.
Expect some serious power in the sky this year. The lineup includes the incredible F-22 Raptor Demo Team, along with historic warbirds, civilian aerobatic performers, rescue helicopters, and military demonstrations that will shake the sand under your feet. When those jets rip across the coastline at full speed, you feel it in your chest.
And here’s what I always tell people: make a day of it.
Grab a spot on the beach early, bring a chair, hit the Boardwalk for lunch, and enjoy the show with the Atlantic Ocean as the stage. The casinos and resorts along the water give you some great viewing spots too, especially if you want to turn it into a weekend stay.
If you’re looking for things to do in Atlantic City, this one is always near the top of the list. It brings out families, aviation fans, photographers, and plenty of locals who just love watching the sky light up over the Shore.
So circle the dates, invite some friends, and plan a day down the beach. Trust me — when those jets scream down the coastline, you’ll be glad you came.
