Where It All Began: Our Atlantic City Sunrises
Hey Folks,
This right here… this is what I’m talking about….
There’s a reason I keep coming back to those early morning walks… and if you’ve been following along, you already know why. It’s not just my sunrise—it’s our sunrise.
Long before any of us were here, that sun has been rising over Atlantic City the same way—steady, powerful, and full of promise. And every time I catch it, whether I’m on the sand or up on the boards, it reminds me why I started sharing all of this in the first place.
About 15 years ago, it was simple. My nephews Mike & Jose suggested to me hey uncle Mike you should post and share these photos you send us each morning, so i obliged the boys and started sharing to FB a photo here, a quick post there… maybe a bike ride, a great meal, or just a quiet moment watching the ocean wake up. No big plan—just sharing what I love about Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore.
Somehow along the way… you showed up.
And now it’s not just me out there. It’s ALL of us.
You see it every morning—the comments, the messages, the familiar names. Whether you’re tuning in on the radio, catching a post on social, or reading this newsletter… you’re part of it. You’re part of the reason those sunrises feel a little brighter.
And let me tell you something else—that walk, that fresh air, that moment before the day starts… it’s good for you. Mind, body and soul all of it. It clears your head, gets you moving, and sets the tone for everything that comes next. It’s the simplest kind of health and wellness, as the father of Atlantic City Dr Jonathan Pitney saw it and it’s been right here all along.
That’s the beauty of Atlantic City. It’s not just about the big nights or the big events—it’s about those quiet, powerful moments that keep US coming back.
So if you haven’t done it in a while… set that alarm, grab a hoodie, and come watch one with us OR come join me if you’re able. You might just understand how this whole thing got started.
