🎺 Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk Brings New Orleans Energy to Atlantic City All Summer Long

If you’re looking for one of the best free things to do in Atlantic City this summer, clear some space on your calendar.

Tony Mart and his team are bringing back Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk at Kennedy Plaza, and this year’s lineup may be the strongest yet.

From Blues and Soul to Funk, Zydeco, Classic Rock, R&B, and New Orleans street music, this series delivers the kind of talent you would normally expect to find behind a ticket window. Instead, it’s happening right on the Atlantic City Boardwalk—free for everyone to enjoy.

I’ve been around enough concerts over the years to know when an event has something special. This one does. There’s a genuine New Orleans spirit behind it. Great musicians. Great crowds. Great energy. Add in the ocean breeze and the backdrop of the Boardwalk, and you’ve got a summer experience that’s uniquely Atlantic City.

The free concert series runs Wednesday nights at 7 PM from June 24 through September 2 at Kennedy Plaza, directly across from Boardwalk Hall. Produced by Tony Mart Presents, Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk has become one of the region’s signature outdoor music events, attracting visitors from throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and beyond.

🎶 A Lineup Packed with Legendary Talent

The season opens with the Tony Mart Allstars Superstar Rock Tribute before rolling into a summer-long celebration featuring nationally recognized performers and music legends.

• July 1 – Ana Popovic & Fantastafunk with Ocean Avenue Stompers featuring Brian Murray of Dogs In A Pile
• July 8 – Tab Benoit with special guest Sgt. Splendor
• July 15 – Five-time Grammy nominee Shemekia Copeland with Soul Project NOLA
• July 22 – George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners and John “Papa” Gros
• July 29 – Classic Rock icon Mitch Ryder and the Tony Mart Allstars
• August 5 – Grammy-winning Zydeco ambassador Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience
• August 12 – Ivan Neville and Dumpstaphunk celebrating the music of Sly & The Family Stone
• August 19 – Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend Booker T. Jones with the Billy Walton Band
• August 26 – Dead Zep featuring Hayley Jane
• September 2 – Love TKO: The Official Teddy Pendergrass Tribute featuring original members of Teddy’s band

Whether you’re a fan of Blues, Soul, Funk, Americana, Jam Bands, Classic Rock, or New Orleans music, there is something on this schedule that will get your attention.

🎷 Lundi Gras Mondays Add Even More Music

As if Wednesdays weren’t enough, Tony Mart Presents is also bringing five special Lundi Gras Monday Night Concerts to Kennedy Plaza throughout August.

• Funktastic Voyage
• Celebration of The Allman Brothers “Live at Fillmore East”
• Flow Tribe

These performances continue the New Orleans-inspired celebration and provide even more opportunities to enjoy free live music on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

🌴 The Music Doesn’t Stop There

Many music fans already know Tony Mart Presents for producing the award-winning Somers Point Beach Concert Series, which returns this summer at Morrow Beach. Add in the Jersey Gumbo Cookoff & Louisiana Music Festival on July 13, and it’s clear that live music lovers have plenty to look forward to throughout South Jersey.

Between Atlantic City and Somers Point, there may not be a better summer destination for free outdoor concerts anywhere along the East Coast.
