Ventnor Boardwalk Is Back — And I Was There For It
Hey Folks,
You know that feeling when the Shore starts to wake up? That first real walk or bike ride on the boards… coffee in hand, ocean breeze, people starting to come back out — yeah, that’s when you know the season is close.
I got to see that first hand this week — earlier before the official ribbon cutting of the newly phase 1 rebuild of a portion of the Ventnor City boardwalk.
And I’ll tell you… this wasn’t just another ceremony. You could feel it. Local pride, people smiling, cameras out — that energy we’ve been waiting for.
The Ventnor Boardwalk is officially back open after a $7.1 million rebuild, and it’s a big one. We’re talking brand new decking, updated lighting, safer ramps, fresh railings — the kind of upgrades that make a real difference when you’re out there walking it.
I talked with folks who’ve been walking those boards for decades. Some of them remember what it looked like years ago — and seeing it refreshed like this?
They replaced infrastructure that’s been in place since the 1960s. Think about that for a second. This wasn’t cosmetic — this was necessary. And they got it done ahead of schedule, which says a lot.
Yeah, the old herringbone pattern is gone, but what you get now is a clean, strong, modern boardwalk built to last. And when you walk it, you feel it.
And here’s the kicker — this is just phase one. More improvements are coming later this year, so Ventnor isn’t just maintaining… it’s investing in the future.
If you’re looking for things to do in Atlantic City, this is part of the bigger picture. Start your morning in Ventnor with a bike ride or a walk, then cross Jackson Ave into AC for lunch, a show, or a night out. That’s how you do the Shore right.
Trust me — I’ve been up and down that stretch more times than I can count, and seeing it like this again? It’s a good sign for the summer ahead.
🥊 What’s Coming Up
- Concert season heating up at Boardwalk Hall
- Spring and summer events rolling out across Atlantic City
- Boardwalk action picking up in Ocean City
- Festival season kicking off in Cape May
Bottom line — the Shore is coming back to life.
And being there in person, watching that ribbon get cut, talking to the people who care about this place — yeah, it reminded me exactly why we do what we do.
Get down here, take that bike ride / walk, and see it for yourself then be sure to book your AC Mike Boardwalk Tram Tour.
